Prolific Newton law firm celebrates 60 years of caring and dedication to each and every client
NEWTON, NJ– For the past 60 years. Hollander, Strelzik, Pasculli, Vandenberg, Hontz and Associates, LLC, has been serving the community with legal excellence. The firm prides itself as a law firm that helps individuals, families and businesses across northern New Jersey with family law, estate planning, workers’ compensation, and real estate. The film recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and continues to stand behind its principles: caring, dedication and finding strategic solutions for each and every client.
Hollander, Strelzik, Pasculli, Vandenberg, Hontz and Associates began in 1964 when Sanford (“Sandy”) Hollander formed a partnership with attorneys Albert Trapasso and Frank Dolan (both dedicated veterans and attorneys who have since passed). Hollander, at age 93, is still actively practicing law every day at the firm and is the oldest active attorney in the Sussex County Bar.
“Our mantra is, and always has been, to treat each client as an individual case no matter how big or small it may be,” Hollander said. “Over the years, we moved from our original location to our current one here on Park Place and have always upheld our standards: we like to represent people…it’s all about our clients, and we are a people firm.”
Partner Mark Hontz joined the firm as a partner on January 1, 2001.
“The firm offers me a daily challenge to accomplish three goals,” he said. “They are helping people in need of assistance, creating and maintaining a respectful and supportive place of employment, and upholding the rule of law. I arrive at the office each morning with a sense of gratitude that my day will be a challenging mix of helping others, respecting colleagues and strengthening the community,”
The partners manage the firm with the goal of allowing both attorneys and staff to maintain a healthy work and life balance.
“I am able to pursue my interests in church, family, music and the community,” Hontz said. “My law partners share this dedication to their families and their communities. Every day presents an opportunity to use our knowledge and experience fully to ease someone else’s burdens and to provide assistance with the challenges of living, aging, and dying. Every opportunity to help is profound in its own way.”
Partner John Vandenberg became a part of the firm when his former firm, Kaye, Strelzik & Vandenberg merged with the current firm over 20 years ago.
Of being a part of such an important and influential firm, he said, “It means a great deal to me to be associated with such accomplished partners and a firm that has been helping the local community for 60 years. I’ve lived here my entire life. It’s an honor to have grown up and gone to school in Newton and now have the opportunity to represent the hard-working residents of Sussex County.”
Like Vandenberg, partner Alan Strelzik came on board when the two firms merged 20 years ago.
“I feel honored to be able to work with such high-achieving partners, associates, and staff, he said. “My wife and I chose Sussex County as the place in which we wanted to raise our children. It has been a privilege to be able to serve the same community in my professional life.”
The firm recently celebrated the addition of Mark Hontz’s son, Nathanial Hontz, who was sworn in as a new attorney by Hollander in October.
“I’m honored to be part of such a historic and highly reputable Sussex County firm,” he said.
The firm consists of the following attorneys: Sanford Hollander (Trusts and Estates and Real Estate), Alan Strelzik (Family Law, Divorce, Child Support, Alimony), John Vandenberg (Workers Compensation and Personal Injury), Mark Hontz (Trusts and Estates, Elder Law, and Estate Planning), Nathaniel Hontz (Associate Attorney), Janice Pasculli (Of Counsel, Certified Elder Law Attorney)l, Kevin Kutyla (Of Counsel, , Certified Civil Trial Attorney) and Lorraine Parker (Of Counsel, Retired Judge of the Superior Court, Appellate Division), The firm is also professionally staffed by five, full-time, experienced legal assistants and paralegals.
